Lebanese passport holders and Sri Lanka travel

Lebanese ordinary passport holders planning an eligible short tourist visit can submit a Sri Lanka Tourist ETA application online. The complete application price displayed through this website is $99. Use the same Lebanese passport in the form, airline booking and arrival process. A family visit or sightseeing plan should be described accurately; paid work and business activity may require another route.

A Lebanese citizen living in the Gulf, Europe, Africa or another country still selects Lebanon when travelling with a Lebanese passport. Residence belongs in its own field. A residence permit or a second nationality does not replace the passport selected for entry.

Arabic, French and Latin versions of a Lebanese name

Lebanese names may appear in Arabic, French and English records with different transliterations. Use the Latin identity version printed in the current passport. Do not combine a French spelling from a school record with an English spelling from an old ticket, and do not translate the name from Arabic yourself.

Compare given names, family name, passport number and date of birth with the airline record. Married names and compound family names deserve a separate check. A bank card or residence document can display a different convention from the travel passport.

Review passport validity from arrival and check current conditions. Travellers living abroad should also keep the documents needed to return to their country of residence. Those residence documents are separate from the Sri Lanka ETA but may matter during the overall itinerary.

If a relative in Lebanon pays for an applicant living abroad, keep the traveller's email and passport records distinct from the payer's bank record. Payment confirmation is not the same as approval. Check the first transaction before repeating a pending card attempt.

Beirut, Gulf hubs and separate tickets

Flights from Beirut may connect through Doha, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Istanbul or another hub. Lebanese residents in the Gulf may start the route there. Neither departure place changes the nationality of the Lebanese passport. Check whether the connection is airside and whether baggage is transferred.

Separate tickets can require immigration clearance in the connection country. The Sri Lanka ETA does not provide transit permission elsewhere. Overnight flights may change the Sri Lankan calendar arrival date, so compare the final ticket with the form and approval.

Family names and hosted stays

Several members of a Lebanese family may share a family name but have different passport numbers and given names. Review each application separately and save each approval under a private, identifiable filename. If staying with relatives in Sri Lanka, enter the real host address and keep a reachable telephone number.

If the first accommodation changes, keep the original record and new booking together. A tour or family organiser can help coordinate the trip, but every passport holder should know their own application reference.

Lebanese applicants paying with a card issued in another country should compare the card result with the reference before retrying. Currency conversion and bank authorisation do not decide the ETA. Save the complete amount, transaction date and application reference for support.
